CPU Usage when Idle

Hej there,
just a quick question, PM has like 10-30% CPU-Usage when doing nothing(1-3 Contactsheets open), is that normal? (Just curios because i need every % of my battery at the pitch) With no contactsheet its 5-6%.

Macbook 2,2Ghz Core2Duo, 4GB Ram
PM 4.6.1.

Are all of the Contact Sheet tabs fully loaded?  You can tell when they're fully loaded when you scroll through them and none of the thumbnails have red text for their filenames.

Can you post a screenshot of your Contact Sheet window plus whatever display (application or menubar gauge) you're using to determine the CPU utilization?

sure.
just realised, it even goes down to 6% when minimizing the window.

Try resizing the Contact Sheet window a little narrower.  It may be that the dock overlaying the Contact Sheet window and its translucent effect may be causing update events to be sent the the Contact Sheet window.

Do you have either the Favorites or Navigator panes completely collapsed?  Try un-collapsing the collapsed one slightly.

I opened three folders each in their own contact sheet tabs.  I waited for them to each finish loading.  The CPU utilization percentage on my system was between 1.3 and 1.5.

Does your increased utilization occur only with specific folders?  What happens if you only open one folder?

Hi There,
strange behaviour here, cant really reproduce one utilization safely, most of the time at 15-30, sometimes 5-6 and very seldom when everything is closed/hidden at 1.5.
Edit: When the ingest dialog is open its at 1.5%, when closing it and the CS is in front again it goes up again, hmm.
