Nikon D90 ingest
« on: July 31, 2009, 04:19:36 PM »
I just got the D90 today.
Shot a few images put the card in my reader and nothing.
Photo Mechanic doesn't launch. I tried connecting using the
cable and the same thing. I then connected to my other mac
which has Nikon Transfer and it launched just fine.?????

Did you tell Image Capture to launch Photo Mechanic?  You can do this in the Launching tab of the Photo Mechanic Preferences dialog.

Mike,

Just fyi, Image Capture is in your Applications folder on the mac. Many people don't even know this app exists on their computer. If you launch Image Capture then open its Preferences menu you will see a drop down menu asking which application you want mac OS to launch when you connect a camera. You can select "other" and browe for any app you like. I think it is the same for card readers too.

True, but it is far easier to use the button in the Files tab of the Photo Mechanic Preferences dialog since it will configure Image Capture for you.
