Error tone on number pad ranking?

When I rating images using the the number pad on a Win XP Pro machine PM 4.4.3.1 and earlier - if I use the mouse to lick to rotate an image when I then click on a color class it works but I hear an error tone. I'm not sure if this is the only time this happens. If I close the preview window the tone goes away till I rotate another image (sometimes).

Drove me nuts for the longest time until T disoverd that clicking on the image BEFORE color coding it stops the beep.
