Setting up preferences.
« on: February 26, 2010, 02:15:29 PM »
Will someone please tell me how to set up Preference/Launching page to open up D300 Raw images into Nikon NX2.
Right now it is set up to let Windows Open files to edit photos and movies, Set for editing applications, 5 photos to edit at once and Edit the JPEG photo.
If this is wrong will someone please tell me what settings I should have.
Many thanks Derek

Derek,

Will someone please tell me how to set up Preference/Launching page to open up D300 Raw images into Nikon NX2.
Right now it is set up to let Windows Open files to edit photos and movies, Set for editing applications, 5 photos to edit at once and Edit the JPEG photo.
If this is wrong will someone please tell me what settings I should have.

In the Launching tab of the Photo Mechanic Preferences dialog, click on the 'Set...' button that follows the text that reads 'Assign specific editing applications for each file type:'

Find and select the NEF entry.  Click on the 'Choose...' button and find your Capture NX2 application and accept it.  Click on the OK button.

If you're shooting RAW+JPEG and you want to edit the NEF most of the time, choose 'Edit the RAW photo' in the section titled 'When in RAW+JPEG mode, editing a photo will:'

That should do it.
