Mike,

Is there anything new to add yet?

We added an option in 4.6.2 to not modify RAW files when writing metadata and most soft-edits (tag, rating, color class, cropping).  Things like adding GPS coordinates, performing soft-rotation, adjusting capture times, deleting metadata, etc. still will modify RAW files because there is no other way to accomplish those tasks.

Is there any update on this requested feature? It's been over two years since the initial request was made.

Mike,

Is there any update on this requested feature? It's been over two years since the initial request was made.

I'm not sure what you're asking.  We added the feature already.  With the exceptions I stated in the previous posts, it is entirely possible to keep PM from modifying your RAW files.
