Adding a sequence to a caption text string
« on: June 15, 2010, 07:08:05 PM »
I am new to PM , but from what I have seen so far, I am impressed! I am running Photo Mechanic version 4.6.1 and I run Win Vista 64 Ultimate on my AMD -based PC. I want to accomplish - Placing a caption with a sequence number in the Caption box. When I upload files to my web page, file names aren't an option for naming my images. I also use LR 2.7 and it also doesn't add a sequence number to the caption. I am hoping (fingers crossed!) this is doable in PM. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Select all of your photos.  Then open the IPTC Stationery Pad from the Image menu.  Just add the {seqn} variable to the Caption field of the IPTC Stationery Pad.  Make sure to also set the '+' checkbox which will cause the new data to be appended.  Then Apply the IPTC Stationery Pad.

That should do it.
