I have 4.6.3 on a Mac...

When I double click on an image in the browser so that it is selected and enlarged fullscreen--if I then hit the + key to zoom in, when I later hit the - (minus) key to go back to full frame it will not go all the way back to full frame. Unless I close PM and restart.

What do I need to do differently to resolve this?

Press 'z' or uncheck the Zoom checkbox in the Zoom pane.

now I see...mine was a rookie question.

I'm usually in fullscreen mode and that's why I hadn't notized the Zoom checkbox....thx again.
