Saving password to forum
« on: July 08, 2010, 12:09:12 PM »
Can anyone help me with a minor but annoying issue?
Every time I try to save my login information (username and password) to the Camera Bits forums page Safari does not keep the information (as it happens with every other page I have to log in).
I always have to hit on "Not now" so that it keeps the info stored.
Is there a solution for that?
TIA

Platti,
Yes, exactly that. Whenever I hit Save, Safari apparently sends a different password to Camera Bits. Camera Bits therefore refuses it and opens a different screen for me to type the correct password. I, of course, type the same one (because IT IS the correct one) and then Camera Bits recognizes it. See the attached screenshot.
TIA

In the Auto-Fill preferences for Safari you can see the list of passwords that Safari keeps.  Delete the entry for forums.camerabits.com and then log in as usual with the correct password.  Safari will ask if you want to keep the password so just click yes and it should be corrected.

Sam,
I`ve done exactly what you said...and logged out.
Next time I try to log in, I hit the login button and the error message appears again, forcing me to re-type the password.
Thanks for your time

Have you deleted the camerabits.com cookies as well?

Sam,
I`ve emptied the cache and the same problem ocurred again.
The curious note is that I have to ˜fool" the computer by clicking on NOT NOW. By doing so, the password is kept all right, but I always have to click on NOT NOW. Safari will present the same username and password AS IF it were the first time...
The strange thing is that this happens only with Camera Bits forum page.
Thanks for your time,
