Macos x snow leo; PM 4.6.6

What I'm doing wrong:
I can't upload to my ftp-adresses. Just to the templates like photoshelter. It works with cyberduck. Any help appreciated.

Are your Connection Settings for the account you're trying to FTP to correct?

I am also having ftp difficulties.  I haven't used ftp in the last month or so and I am pretty sure that the last time was prior to my upgrading to 4.6.6.  I am running on Windows xp.  I used the same set up, connection parameters, etc that I have successfully used many times previously.  Unfortunately, in trying to get it to work this time, I may have changed the connection parameters (unfortunately, no stored snapshots for that screen).

However, I suspect that the upgrade to 4.6.6 is the culprit.

I have attached a screen shot of my settings.  I am FTPing to a network storage device.  The error is "could not make connection to server".  No ftp log produced.

thanks
Bob McElroy

No changes were made to any of the Uploaders in Photo Mechanic 4.6.6.

My apologies.  I found my problem.  It was a network issue.

Try resizing the dialog taller.  There are more settings to enter.

If you want to send me your FTP login information privately, I'd be happy to try it out and find out what is going on.

Johann,

Thanks, I sent You a message.

I was able to create a Connection Setting for the server credentials you gave me.  I was able to create a folder (CBits_Test) and uploaded a small JPEG image into it without issue.  I also used an FTP client to connect to the server to see if the image and the directory were actually created and they were.  But using the FTP client was very slow to login and navigate through the folder (got spinning beach ball in FTP client application more than once and for longer than one minute each time).

Perhaps your server is overworked or is just unreliable?

Kirk,

on my screenshot the fields were filled right ? I still can't upload. The log says error: could not make connection to server. The server might be overworked these days. But with cyberduck I always get a good connection.

It's not possible to tell from the screen shot if your password is entered correctly, but I can tell you that when I entered the information that you sent me into my Connection Settings, I was able to immediately connect and upload a photo.

Kirk,

I just tried again, the password is correct, but maybe I filled the wrong fields ? I just tried to send to a server of one of my publishers and I failed, but I succeeded with cyberduck. And I remember now, I never succeeded in ftp-ing with PM. Wich of course would be much better for workflow. Maybe You could send me a screenshot of Your connection settings?

Hi Johann!

Do you have a firewall running? May be you have blocked a single Application for not to be allowed to connect to the network.
I will send you a sample-FTP-Server from my website via PN to connect to. This one is fast and reliable.

Best regards
Sven
