Obviously cataloging is the biggest and most anticipated addition, but I am very much looking forward to an updated UI, especially dual monitor support and non modal windows!

Kirk, any chance you can post some screenshots?

Possibly.  I'll have to clear it with the rest of the team first.

Just home from the Photo Show...
So sad not to meet the mythic Kirk but happy to meet the mighty Dennis!
The upgrade looks excellent and the learning curve will be short for experienced users!
Bring it on!

All of it sounds great. I can't wait to see and use it.
Working on Mac, OSX, iOS and with some Canons.
Allways shooting RAW.

Mick,

Ditto. I hope early-2012 is very early.

1Q 2012 ends March 31st.  We'll need that time to get all of the functionality done.  If things go well then we could release it earlier.

Could there be a beta release before the official release?

Any chance for all of us that could not attend the NY exhibition to get a sneak preview of what's coming?

Could there be a beta release before the official release?

Possibly.  There will definitely be a private beta phase.

Great news!
I would also like to see a beta release first, if possible...
Now, Kirk, as for the afore-mentioned non modal windows, what does that exactly mean?
TIA

It means that you don't have to dismiss the Preview window in order to work with the Contact Sheet window.  This is great when you have two monitors.
