Exporting Code replacements
« on: July 13, 2012, 03:58:48 AM »
Hi,
Back on version 4.6.7 ...
Is it possible to export Code Replacements ?
I have looked at all the different preferences to export and cannot find one for the CRs.
Many thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin!

What do you want to export? The CodeReplacements are stored in a text file you created.

As it appears that I can save all the preferences and pop-ups/drop downs in one file and export them to another machine, I was hoping to be able to include the Code replacements too.
But copying one further file should not be a problem!

Martin,

If the export function will include the code replacement file it has to be recreated on the target machine. If you have the file stored on a disk that is not present, where to restore the file to?
The same for the information of what files are active in the code replacement. If they do not exist on the target machine CR will even not work

It's not supported by the Export/Import function.  Copy them to your other machine directly with the OS (Finder/Windows Explorer).  The Importing machine would have no idea where you would want to store copied files since they could have come from just about anywhere on your Exporting system.
