Using Automator Apps.
« on: December 06, 2006, 01:01:25 AM »
I have a number of Automator applications I wish to access from within Mechanic but cannot figure out a way. They will not be seen in the Navigator nor the Favorites.
Just to check is the ONLY way;
to save the  Automator Workflows as folder actions and then load the 'hot folder' into the favorites? I have done this BUT would rather use the applications as they are less temperamental when batching files.

Sure, I can drag images from Mechanic onto the apps on the desktop or Finder sidebar, but would much rather stay in Mechanic for the whole operation...

It would be great if there was a 'Send to Automator' (as there is 'droplet') menu or contextual menu!  :)

Ok, I think i've seen the light!
As they are Automator applications,  I can add them as custom apps in the "Assign specific editing applications for each file type" preference by setting a 'custom editor'.
Brilliant! Now I can access all my Automator apps with one right click of a Mighty Mouse.
Hell, I love this program!!  ;D
