Key Assignment

Is it possible to re-assign keys and customize functions?  I tag over 10K images per event and since I cover races what I enter as metadata (keywords) are the bib/racer numbers so it makes sense to use the keypad to enter metadata faster.

I wonder if I can set the period to separate keywords and set the enter key to save and move to the next item.

Currently this is what I do in preview window:
123,456,678,901(alt+>)

wish I could do this
123(space)456(space)678(space)901(enter)

or

123.456.678.901(enter)

No, sorry, there are no keyboard customization options in Photo Mechanic at this time.

This feature would be a killer for sports or event photographers that shoot races: we would be able to tag pictures with bib numbers a lot faster by using ten-key

Just wanted to provide an update based on someone else's suggestion.  Apparently, they had a similar issue and assigned a button on their logitech mouse.

Well, I use a Microsoft Keyboard and the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center Program allowed me to customize certain keys on my keyboard to work in Photomechanic. I did some quick tests on a couple of images and it seems to work like this:

Home Key= copy (ctrl+shitf+c)
Search Key=Paste (ctrol+shitf+v)
back button= comma (separates keywords)
forward button= Save and Next (alt+>)

It might not be ideal but it's looks it might actually work
