extract computer name as a Variable
« on: August 27, 2013, 12:20:38 AM »
Is there a variable that can be used to extract the computer name? My aim is on ingesting images the computer name is added into the details by way of a variable.

Is there any way to do this?

TIA,
Nick

What does computer name mean to you?  "Mac OS X, 10.8" or "Windows 7, 64-bit"?  Or some name somewhere in the OS's preferences settings?

PM doesn't have the capability built into it to give you any of those.

Hi Kirk,

By machine name i mean its network name etc, not the operating system. e.g: Nick's Mac or work-laptop

There is currently no way to extract the network name of a computer in Photo Mechanic.
