Nikon WT1 download
« on: December 17, 2006, 12:50:23 PM »
I've a Nikon WT1 wireless transmitter downloading onto my laptop.  I'm using the Mac OSX server. Is it possible to get photomechanic to recognise and ingest the images downloading onto the laptop?  The images for various reasons are downloading into the home/users/shared directory rather than into the primary destination folder.

Thanks.

Not currently, but such a feature is planned.  We're calling it 'Live Ingest'.

Good to know it's in the pipeline. Looking forward to it.  Thanks.

Ditto.  Haven't been able to really use the WT-1 in my workflow, but if it could go right into PM, that would be HUGE for certain types of events I shoot.

Kirk,

Will the "Live Ingest" feature also work for a tethered camera, or just with the wireless transmitter?  Is this going to be in version 4.5?

Cheers,

Paul

It just "watches" a specific folder for new files and Ingests them.  So it would likely work with a tethered camera.  It is planned for the 4.5 series but likely not the initial 4.5.0 release.

OK, so it has only been a few months since I asked, but any insight to 4.5 release date?  Can you pin it down season if not a month?  Can you at least say if the feature list is frozen and you are in development or internal testing?

Thanks!

We're getting close.  I'm saying early 2007 (think February.)

Currently I'm on vacation with my wife in Las Vegas, celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary.

I'll be back on the job at the new year.

Version 4.5 will have a lot of great features that you all have asked for, but it is likely that a few of them will come in point releases to version 4.5...
