Missing IPTC data in PM but not other programmes
« on: March 25, 2014, 06:40:47 AM »
Kirk,

I have a problem concerning NEF images stored on my Drobo NAS. When I load them into PM all the metadata disappears as shown in the attached screen snippet.

The snippet shows PM's empty IPTC info window while the program IPTC window on the right shows the information that is still embedded in the image. Jpegs appear not to be affected.

I have never experienced this before and I have not yet rebooted the PC or the Drobo.

Any ideas?

David

David,

Without seeing your settings and having all pertinent files (the NEF itself and any XMP sidecar files) it is hard to know what is going on.

Thanks Kirk.

I must say that I avoid XMP sidecar files where ever possible.

I have never known this to happen before although I have experienced occasional problems getting the IPTC entries to stick in the IPTC fields. Whether or not this is related to that I don't know.

I will let you know what happens later after I have rebooted the programme.

Kirk,

PM started up this morning and was able to view all the metadata on the Drobo stored NEFs. I'll let you know if I get a repeat of the problem.

Thanks again.
