Tiny proofs.....
« on: July 22, 2014, 09:04:22 AM »
I am running Photo Mechanic Version 5.0, build 15800 (e6ecc1c) on an Intel based Mac running OSX 10.9.4, and PS4.  When I try to print proofs they are tiny, postage stamp size.  It has been a problem even when I was using an earlier version of PM.  I've been through every menu looking for some sign of control, it does the same with every printer I use too.

What settings are you using in the print dialog?

The files themselves are 10 in at 200dpi, plenty big.

jwillhelm, that's not the dialogue that's interesting to solve your problem. Kirk means the print dialogue you get directly after you choose Print... from PM's File menu (it's the dialogue where you specify you either want a proof or a contact sheet printed).

I bet you, there's the problem…

Try turning off "Use printer scaling".

Turning off printer scaling had no effect.

What kind of images are you printing?  JPEG?  TIFF?  RAW?  If RAW, what kind?  Have you tried varying the DPI setting as well?  Does the problem happen with all image types you work with?

JPEG mainly, but every other format behaves the same.  If I do contact sheets with 1 X 1, they are large enough, but then the caption information is truncated.
Like I said, the problem started when I was using PM4, and I guess when I installed PM5 it went in and imported what ever setting / error was there.  They were baseball card sized proofs in PM4, and even smaller (postage stamp size) in PM5.

The printing code did not change from PM4 to PM5.

You could try resetting your preferences: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=8218.0

Otherwise, I'll need to be able to reproduce your problem in order to be able to address it.  What printer do you use?  Is it possible that I could get the driver for it?  Could I also get one sample image from you?  (I'll duplicate it as needed.)
