Frame number from Nikon D4S
« on: September 03, 2015, 02:31:13 PM »
I am working on some pictures taken on a D4S and the frame number that PM (4.6.9) reports in the Frame Number variable is very different from the frame number that is in the image file name.  So while adjacent images  increment by one, the value reported in Frame Number appears to increase by 256 for each frame. However Frame Number is not a multiple of 256.  Is there a known relationship between the Frame Number variable and the frame number used for the file name ?
Many thanks for your help.

What specific variable are you using?

Martin,

I am using {fnum}.

What do the filenames look like?  Please provide some examples.

As examples:
File: IW2_3701.jpg has frame number: 29966
and five shots later
file: IW2_3706.jpg has frame number: 31246

Have you edited the file with other software? Or is this straight from the camera?

Martin,

I don't suppose you have tried PM 5 to see if it correctly reports this?

I will send you a PM with an FTP address and I need you to send me a file with the original filename, straight out of the camera.
