no upload via ftp!!
« on: May 18, 2014, 11:22:11 PM »
Hello all together,
since a few days I have problems to upload my pictures via ftp to my agency.
I use the same presets like before the problem occurs.
After selecting the pictures and the server settings, the "copying" window appears. After that nothing happens. The upload windows does not appear and the process ends.
I cleard all the Caches in the section Preferences.

Restart of PM and the system (Mac Snow Leopard) also not solve the problem.
I use the same software version and preset like before the problems.

What s the problem?
I am bufferd about this.

regards from Germany

Hello again,
I solved the Problem by accident!!

The problem occurs  with Pictures in raw Mode (.CR2 from Canon) when modified with Digital Photo Professional Software.
I modified my pictures with DPP and saved the pictures in .jpeg mode for transmission. Together with the conversation from raw mode to jpeg this fault occurs.
I tried to rename the pictures in PM and a error message appears (see attachment). After clicking cancel all the pictures have a "temp" name.
Renaming for the second time in PM after the error message above works. After this renaming the upload was possible!!!

For further questions.....pleas ask!
I will try to help, even when I am not sure, what solved the problem. The main thing is, that it is now possible for me to upload my pictures!!
See the attachments for explaining.

If I am understanding you correctly, the problem can be reproduced with a single photo?  Can you take one of these photos, put it in a zip archive (right-click on one in the Finder and choose to Compress it) and post it here?

Thanks,

-Kirk

Tommi,

Here the picture as a Zip File
(attachment)

Could you provide me the JPEG file that fails to be renamed during the first Rename operation?  If it is part of a RAW+JPEG pair, provide both files please.

Thanks,

-Kirk

What renaming string will cause your example file to fail to rename?
