loupe activation

also if the loupe is NOT permanently selected in the contact sheet, I would like to activate it by using CMD click

That key is used to extend selections.  It's a standard selection qualifier key on macOS.  Shift is also in use for selection.  Ctrl-click brings up a contextual menu.  The only free qualifier key on macOS is the Option key.  This key does not exist on Windows, however.

I agree. Playing around, I find "click" and "hold" ~0.5s to be the most convenient way.
