Keyword Dialog box populating with keyword collections
« on: January 28, 2025, 05:56:03 AM »
I have an issue with the Keyword Dialog box (clicking on arrow to the right of the keyword panel in Metadata panel). If I add or subtract keywords from the list, a unique collection of keywords is added to the dialog box the next time I call up the dialog (underneath the  Edit Keywords | Structured Keywords section) If I click on one of these collections it populates my image keyword field. As I progress through a large number of images, this collection list grows making it difficult to access the individual keywords below.

This is proving to be a hindrance when filing at live events as I sometimes accidentally click on one of these collections as I'm scrolling down to reach the individual keywords.

Is there any way to turn this feature off?

(Photo Mechanic Version 2025.1, build 8239 (63d9685))

There is not currently a way to turn this off, however, it was added to the Standard version of Photo Mechanic (which it looks like is what you have a license for) in the builds we published in October 2024, so you could revert to the build prior to that if you'd like to run Photo Mechanic without this feature. The most recent build without this feature can be found here: https://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=16371.0

Of course, any of the improvements and bug fixes we have added since then would be missing from this build, but this is the best solution I have for you to turn this option off at the moment.

I didn't really switch to the subscription model to effectively move backwards but thank you for your prompt response!

Andrew,

I didn't really switch to the subscription model to effectively move backwards but thank you for your prompt response!

We can definitely add a preference to turn it off.
