out of curiosity, what exactly should a "practical catalog software" be able to do what neofinder can't?
what stops you showing pics to clients using neofinder using it in a lan or even a wan.
isn't the main purpose of a catalog software to find files quickly based on a bunch of search criteria?

If you define "cataloguing" very restrictive, Neofinder does it in a impressive manner.
But in relation to the needs of a photographer there has to be more than just a very fast search engine.
It is not only finding but also presentation, just as shown by software like Lightroom, Aperture or iMediaPro.
It is the builtin possibility to make slideshows, galleries etc ...
This is, what defines a catalog software, or more precisely: DAM-software, for me.
And this is, what I expect from Camera Bits new product.
