Full Removal/Reinstall
« on: April 10, 2013, 07:02:59 AM »
Hi is there any way of fully installing PM and reinstalling? (Removing ALL settings)

My version has gone a bit funky since importing settings from my other laptop (crashes when uploading and randomly too).

I'd quite like to remove it, but despite deleting the 'AppData\Roaming\Camera Bits, Inc\Photo Mechanic' folder some settings still remain/still crashes.

Any advice would great.

Jonathan

Here is the log... just in case it's not what I thought it was. I see another user has been experiencing crashing here (I'm on Windows 7 x64 too with an Intel PC) http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=8367.0

What build of Photo Mechanic are you using?

If you delete the 'AppData\Roaming\Camera Bits, Inc\Photo Mechanic' folder, you've removed nearly all of the settings for Photo Mechanic.  The rest are made in the Windows Registry but mostly pertain to window positions and sizes.

Hi Kirk,

It's build 13915. I tired removing all the settings from the folder, but it still crashes. I think my system may be having the problem this user is having (SEE LINK TO OTHER THREAD)

My 'out and about laptop' is fine, but this one is causing right bother, even as I sit now with it in the background it has crashed. Saying "Photo Mechanic 5.0.0.0 has stopped working"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Jonathan

I suggest calling our tech support folks at 503-547-2888.  Working on your issue interactively would be far more productive than what can be done on the forums.
