Apple dropping support for Windows Quick Time

My recollection is that PM uses Quick Time in some capacity and if it is true that Apple is dropping support for the Windows version of Quick Time how is that going to effect PM?

Unless QuickTime just completely fails to operate and makes it so that PM itself cannot launch, then you'd lose support for BMP, TGA, and Movie formats for providing thumbnails and previews.  PM on Windows currently does not play back movies even with QuickTime installed.

PM 6 likely won't be using QuickTime at all.

I think the good news is that V6  probably won't be using Quick Time.

The bad news is the Zero Day exploits that Apple appears to be unwilling to fix!  I admit to being torn between leaving QT installed and removing it.  PM is not the only app that has some QT dependencies even though I use them much less frequently than PM.

If you don't use the formats I listed, you should be able to remove QuickTime and have PM operate normally.

Thanks for clarifying as your original comment left me a little unsure.  Now all I have to due is figure out what to do about the other apps I have that use Quick Time.
