A major problem with PM and now unworkable
« on: April 22, 2016, 05:25:18 AM »
A cry for help!

Working in Russia and under extreme pressure.

PM has given up the ghost and now unable to load images even after reinstall. See snippets.

Yesterday it was importing but then saying errors even though all images were okay. Today it imports but does not show images.

I can't do a clean install as I don't have my registration code. Can anybody tell me where to find it?

Win 10 on HP laptop.

The first snippet was from yesterday the second from today.

Please advise.

David,

Can you send me your PM.log?  From the Help menu choose "Reveal Support Data..."

Send me a personal message and I'll give you an email address to where you can send the zipped PM log file.

Reinstalling the app will not likely solve your problems.

This looks like a rights issue to me. Do you have write acces to the destination directory, and what happens if you manually copy one of the files from your card to the specified directory (e.g, using Explorer), does that work?

Thanks Kirk and Hayo.

Basic fault on my part when I panicked. I had left the filters to show dark blue only, hence it would not show any ingested files.

So now working but still the same error problems as it ingests. That is even after I uninstalled and reinstalled PM.

Three more snippets are attached after the reinstall.

I looked up the code at my PM account but didn't need it as all the settings remain as before.

What also does not happen is the auto-erase and un-mount.

Very busy and no sleep at the moment so will follow-up when I get back on Tuesday.

Thanks again and sorry for the panic.

David,

What also does not happen is the auto-erase and un-mount.

Neither will happen when errors are encountered during the Ingest operation.

I agree with Hayo that you likely have some sort of permissions/ownership problem with the destination folders that Ingest is trying to copy your files into.

Hi Kirk,

Sorry to trouble you again. Did you discover anything with the PM log.

I have another problem which might be associated with this and attach a snippet from PM on my HP laptop running Win 10.

As you can see the colour codes are incorrect with blue as the first colour.

Also the Task folder is now floating and the navigator panel can also do this.

Running version 17338.

Best rgds,
David

Nothing major.  Mostly issues with your DNS not working from time to time.

I don't know how to tell that your color codes are incorrect since they are user configurable.  Did they suddenly change from what you're accustomed?

Also the Task folder is now floating and the navigator panel can also do this.

All of the panes can be undocked and become floating windows.  You can dock them again by dragging them to where you want them to be.

If you want the default layout to be restored, you can quit PM, launch it again and hold down the Shift key while PM starts up.
