Image permissions changing during upload via PM FTP
« on: August 31, 2016, 06:25:54 PM »
We are having a problem with the photos being uploaded to our FTP photo server via Photo Mechanic. They will not build thumbnails because the embedded image permissions get downgraded at some point in the upload process. If we drag and drop via an FTP client like Yummy FTP Pro we don’t have the permissions issues. Before the upload images are Octal:777 afterwards Octal: 600

We recently had an OS update to Linux file system on ubuntu - 16.04.

Any thoughts? Any suggestions for out server guys? It used to work without a flaw.

Photo Mechanic Version 5.0, build 17719 (c8049ca), MacBook Pro 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 OS 10.11.6

PM's FTP client uses the "STOR" command and does not set any permissions directly.  Check your FTP server configuration.  Nothing has changed in PM as to how files are transferred via FTP.  We're fairly certain the changes on your end (the OS update you mentioned) have caused this issue.

Perfect. Thanks Kirk. That's what I figured but I just needed official confirmation for my meeting today with the tech guys to get this problem sorted out.
