The Info Pane in Preview mode has settings for height, but it doesn't seem possible to customise what info is shown. For example, I am not normally interested in the camera serial number, but I am interested in which lens was used (as distinct from it's focal length, which does not help me when I have been using a couple of overlapping zooms).
It should be possible to select the info to be shown (which will have the effect of optimising the use of available screen space).
