I am trying to insert a copyright symbol into a watermark. I know this should be easy but I am having a rough time with it. Can you give me the steps to do this?

Macbook Pro OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

Pressing the Option key while you press the 'g' key should produce a copyright symbol in any text field.
