Rename replacement

Can I rename a file using a letter to replace a serial number - Currently I use {frame4}-JAS{modl:6,3}{snum:6,1}{iyr2}{imn0}{Idy0} which picks up the last # from the body serial number and adds it to the body name - (D34) but now I have 2 bodies the END with the same # so I would like to use A if 2234 & B if 1234. Is that possible?
