Strange behavior with "Search"

Hi,
when I do a quick search for in this case "Dark hedges" PM shows some 140 Thumbnails, but not all are "pictured" as You see in the screenshot. If I view one in "View" it is unsharp. What's the reason? It happens now and then.

I use PM5 on Apple Os 9.5

Looks like PM simply hasn't processed all the images yet. Especially on a large folder, this can take a while (especially if there are large tiff files in that folder too).

What are your PM cache and memory settings? As Kirk says: more isn't always better!

P.S. I don't think you are running OS X 9.5 on that system

Thanks for the screenshots.  It looks like to me that you have Spotlight indexing PM's cache folder.  Looking at the file size of the image in the preview (448KB), I would expect it to be pixelated.

You'll need to force Spotlight to not index your PM Cache folder.  Check PM's Caching preferences.  If you have chosen a Disk Cache folder other than the default then you'll have to tell Spotlight not to index that folder.  You can do this by opening up System Preferences, clicking on Spotlight, then clicking on the Privacy tab.  Then add the same path you chose for your Disk Cache folder.

This should stop Spotlight from returning results from PM's Cache folder.

Thanks for the answers. Maybe the indexing was the reason. Meanwhile everything works fine again. I had to shut down PM and reopen it. But I use the default folder for Chaches. And of course I use macos 10.9.5http://forums.camerabits.com/Smileys/default/smiley.gif

Just click on the smily you want in the button bar, or type the code to get it e.g. a : directly followed by a ) for a
