Import - Ingest from iPhone
« on: June 25, 2017, 12:07:30 PM »
Hi,

I simply want to import / ingest the photos from my iPhone but Photo Mechanic does not find my phone.

It does read my SD cards seamlessly.

Please advise,
-BrianP

PM Ingests from disks/cards that show up as a disk volume.  I don't know if the iPhone has a mode that will mount its internal data as a disk volume or not.  If there is such a mode, then Ingest should work with it.

Instead of via Photos, why not use image capture? Much simpler.

For me, I just sync my iPhone's photos with Dropbox and have that Dropbox folder as a Favorite in Photo Mechanic. No need for Photos app at all.   When I open PM, my iPhone photos are just there already copied to my local harddrive.

I *think* you can do this with iCloud as well, but Dropbox works too well for me thus far.
