wrong date
« on: July 01, 2017, 03:24:03 PM »
Hi Photo Mechanic

since the last update to Photo Mechanic Version 5.0, build 18610 (2882482), I have a date issue.
IPTC Stationary Pad does not read the correct date with the help of Variables {iptcday0}
For example, it takes the July 02 instead of July 01.

Bug?

MBP 10.12.5

The IPTC Stationery Pad's date does not pertain to any one specific file.  Are you saying you entered a date of July 02 and then applied the IPTC Stationery Pad to an image (and applied the date) and then when you use the variable {iptcday0} on that image, you get an incorrect value?

I run a Caption standard like this in my IPTC Stationary Pad:

blablabla....... on /{dow}/, {iptcday0}. /{iptcmonthname}/ {iptcyear4} in {city} . © Photo {photog}

with that, all my Images have the capture date set. But now my images created on Saturday July 01 do have the July 02.

It is strange. I've had this Problem only three times so far. That's not a big deal, but I cannot figure out, what the problem was and is.
First you can see the example Image was shot on June 26, that was a Monday. When I run my IPTC script, it should take the IPTC date to the caption.
But there is now June 27 and still Monday......?

Dominik,

Open up the IPTC Info for that image and look at the date control.  Does it have the correct date of 6/26/2017 or is it the 27th?

In the first screenshot, you can see it's the 26th.

Dominik,

Thanks for the sample image.  When I expand the variables in the Info dialog (holding down the Option key and clicking on Eval) the values show the correct date of the 26th.  If I apply the IPTC Stationery Pad with the same variables the date is still the 26th.

I cannot reproduce the problem on PM5 (latest build).  Any ideas to help me reproduce the problem?

Hi Kirk

I think, I found the reason. I have a textfile with some variables to change the name of day and month from english into german.
I typed the english name like Monday, left a space with the tab key and typed the Name in german. I now changed the space between the two words with one space and not with the tab key. Well, I works....

That's good that you found a solution.
