File Uploader - Twitter

I have been able to set up Photo Mechanic to upload to Twitter on my desktop.  I am now trying to do the same on my laptop. I have Twitter open in my browser.
In the connection settings window I select Twitter as the Selected Uploader. I click on Add/Replace Account and get this error -
Server Error: Hostname not known: api.twitter.com

Please help

Could you take a screen shot and post it here?  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your JPEG format screenshot.

Thanks for the screenshot.  Sounds like there is something wrong with the internet connection on your laptop, particularly with your DNS server settings.  The name 'api.twitter.com' needs to be resolved into an IP address (it's a number like 22.34.45.56) and this isn't working.  Check your internet/network settings on your laptop and make sure you have a DNS server address set in your settings.  Google's DNS is 8.8.8.8 if you don't have one from your internet service provider.

I have set the DNS to the Google settings, but still no joy.

I  think that it is a problem with the Network / Internet on my laptop. 
It is not a huge issue, but would have been useful if easily fixed.  I am happy to continue with my current workflow until I buy a new, more modern laptop, in the not too distant future.

Are you otherwise able to connect to the internet and browse web pages?

Yes - reasonable internet connection. Use emails, surf web, upload photos via Dropbox and FTP (not via Photo Mechanic) without any issues.

Finally got this sorted.  This did the trick

open command prompt(Run as Administrator) and run these:

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
NETSH winsock reset catalog
NETSH int ipv4 reset reset.log
NETSH int ipv6 reset reset.log
Exit

Now tweeting as part of my workflow. Saving vital minutes
