Orientation tag ?
« on: March 13, 2018, 02:41:32 PM »
Hello folks,
I made a  stupide mistake : I have disabled the orientation for my pictures (.cr2) on my canon 1DX body. And I just realize now when I see all pictures horizontal in PM :-/

I have try to filter by {rotation} ; but it does not work.
I was wondering , if maybe the orientation information (horizontal or vertical) could still be stored somewhere in the .CR2 file and if there would be a way to select only the verticale files ?

Don't tell me that I have to turn all pictures one by one ? Any tips ?
Thanks
Alex

Without a sample file to look at, I expect that the camera did not write out orientation information as you directed it to not do so.  Without that information, PM will show the image in its non-rotated state.  You will have to manually rotate them, yes.

Alex,

You could sort by {width} to group all the vertical files together. Perhaps that might at least help in finding the ones you need to rotate?

They're all appearing unrotated so their widths will all be identical.

Of course. My brain needs to be rotated since I'm not thinking straight. :(
