Old culled images missing colors in Lightroom

I had this issues a long while back - Old images (2008) culled in PM - colors & stars are not visible in Lightroom - I believe I used to use the tool/Update Iptc/XMP and they would show up - Not now - what am I missing?

What image type are they?  JPEG?  TIFF?  Some RAW format?
