Very unsharp JPGs
« on: December 22, 2018, 12:51:40 AM »
Hi,

When opening a contactsheet with a bunch of jpgs. They are all very unsharp. Is there a way to rebuild the thumbs of the jpgs, or is this a problem of Photo Mechanic.

Greetings Robert

It's likely a problem with the JPGs themselves, not with PM. What resolution are they?
Can you post a screenshot and one of the unsharp jpgs so we can investigate?

 Hi,

I just noticed, when I open a contactsheet of this folder on my Surface, the thumbs in PhotoMechanic are all OK.

The folder lies on a NAS (Synology).

Robert,

The images show up sharp in Photo Mechanic on my system (macOS 10.11).  You say they show up sharp on your Surface and that the images are stored on a Synology NAS.  On what system (please provide details about your system (OS, PM build number, etc.) do the images not show up sharp?

Is the problem on a high DPI screen? What setting do you have for high dpi support in PM?

Sorry, the options "generate high quality thumbnails" and sharpen thumbnails" in the preferences where deactivated on my Computer and I haven't noticed that. Now everything is OK.

Thanks for your help.
