thumbnail images failing to display sometimes

usually towards the end of a shoot I notice that thumbsnail images in the main image viewer window lose their images, instead showing a grey box in each thumbnail image.

I suspect this is something to do with the cache settings?

I'm running Windows 10 64bit and PM 5 build 19728

PC is a Dell XPS 13 with 8Gb Ram, 256Gb SSD and i7 processor

Attached are the current Cache settings.  Anything you can suggest?

Your settings look fine.  I'd like to see your Photo Mechanic log.  In Photo Mechanic go to the Help menu and choose "Reveal Support Data..." and moments later a Windows Explorer window will come forward with the zipped log file selected.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your zipped PM log file.
