I've just installed build 3143 and it's still slow for me when I switch back to my iMac display profile..  unworkably slow.  In fact, it seems even slower than before..  it took about 15 seconds to scroll through 10 images - and the lag was so bad, it didn't even start switching images until after I'd hit the 'cursor right' key 10 times!  :(

The speed of the latest PM6 build is much improved on my 15" MacBook Pro but it is still slower than PM5. This is definitely a step in the right direction.

For those still experiencing bad performance on Mojave, please try the following:

For best performance with this build, please turn off the “Always make current Preview visible in Contact Sheet” checkbox in the Preview section of the Preferences dialog.

That has fixed the problem for me no lag at all now when using arrow keys to scroll through images. Thanks for the tip pablogg

Your welcome. But please take note that we see this as a band-aide for the time being. Team is working hard trying fix the root cause(s) of the performance issues people are encountering on Mojave.
Regards,
Pablo

Any movement on this? Is this problem solved? Is there a better thread than this one?

Please try the latest build of PM6.  It now runs previews faster than PM5 on my affected system.

Hello, is the solution permanent or final? I want to upgrade to v6, but only if the problem is finally fixed.

You should safely be able to upgrade; if a later OS update makes the current implemented work-around/fix unnecessary or slower than the “proper” solution, rest assured Camerabits will make the necessary improvements to make use of that. Also (especially) when in the future some OS or other update makes things no longer work as well as they should, this will be addressed.
