PM6 is slow when scrolling through pictures. iMac 27
« on: April 01, 2019, 01:11:18 AM »
I use the updated PM6 on 3 computers. Image scrolling is slow on iMac 27. Buttons and mouse wheel. So as long to load the picture to full screen. A delay of about 1 second. PM5 worked well. Everything works well on Mac Book Pro and iMac 21. The problem is only on iMac 27. A complete reinstallation of the program didn't help.
Mac OS Mojave Ver. 10.14.4
4GHz Intel Core i7
32 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
AND Radeon R9 M395X 4 GB

What are the specifications of the two systems that don't have this problem?

Browsing in PM6 is very slow on my iMac27 too. With PM 5 there was no delay and now I have to wait.

Really hoping a patch comes soon as this is a major issue for many of us that slows the culling process dramatically. Any updates on when something might be coming?

Sadly it's looking like something that Apple will have to fix.  Drawing an image onto the screen which usually takes a fraction of a second is taking close to two seconds on affected systems.

What do you suppose the odds are that this problem is big enough for Apple to fix quickly?

There is more than one outcome possible.  They may tell me that there is a different way of drawing our images to our windows that is unaffected.  I could very likely adopt that new method in fairly short order.  They may tell me that there is a bug in the OS that needs to be fixed and there is no workaround.  Then the fix would be in the next macOS update.

PM6 on my 2018 MBP with 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM and Radeon RX 580 8192 MB (external gpx) is crawling on cull as well. PM5 flying fine.
