PM6 : Problem with tags

Hi,

I prefer to cull on my MacBook. Here is my complete workflow :

Ingesting on the desktop. Cloning internal hdd on external ("the clone"). I use CarbonCopyCloner.
Then I plug the clone to the MacBook and start culling.
When I'm finished, I plug back the clone to my desktop and clone back the folder to the internal hdd. Then open the folder on my internal hdd, and voilà, my tags/colours are here.
I have done for years. Worked fine (and still works fine) with PM5.

But now with PM6, nothing shows (no tags, colors, …) when I go back on my desktop.

What changed ? I can't work with PM6 
Back to PM5 for now. I started my 30 day trial period but won't be able to try it I fear.

it's strange because when I open the .xmp we can see Tagged="True" (see attachment).
It's PM5 on the attached screenshot, but it's the same with PM6, no tags/colours.

What build of Photo Mechanic 6 are you working with?

The current build is 2818.  A number of bugs were fixed in this build.

I notice this is a raw + jpg pair. What do you see when you don't join them? I bet you that the raw file will show as tagged but not the jpg.  Could it be that when you tagged the image, you hadn't joined them? If you had joined them at that time, you missy have uncovered a bug (but try the latest build first to see if you can reproduce the issue) in that PM doesn't tag both images in a pair.

Hi,

I am using the current build 2818.

My raw+jpg are always joined.

I tried different setting and I was finally able to "see" my tags.
-> "When viewing photos in RAW+JPEG mode use the metadata from the:"
I change JPEG File to RAW File.
And tadaaa, tags were back.
(seems jpg aren't tagged, bug ?)

Excellent, thanks for confirming. This indeed looks like a bug to me; the jpg should have been tagged as well. I just tested this with 2818 though and I can not reproduce your problem. Do you have write permission for the jpg files?
