Oryk,

Where can I find out to which catalog(s) a photo/file belongs ?

There is currently no way via the UI to determine that information.

But it sounds like a good idea. To me, at least.

Yes. But when I think of it, I believe a general universe wide solution is a tall order.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying?

Really? I'll wait until I see how PM+ will handle this with my images registered in a constantly increasing number of databases on multiple computers :-)

I still don't understand what you're wanting or saying.  But that's OK.

Wouldn't the "Show in folders" function that was being discussed in the Feature requests section take care of this? Now that I think about it, it seems that this is a subset of that.

Carl,

I think that the two features are mirror opposites.  "Show in folders" would open a folder containing the cataloged item.  This other feature, let's call it "Show catalog info" would tell you which catalog(s) an item in either a folder-based Contact Sheet or a search-based Contact Sheet belongs to.

We plan to make the feature be a right-click on the 'green dot' to see the Catalog ownership info.  Just not implemented yet.  I don't know if people want to do this in bulk and we produce a report, or if they simply want to have this feature operate on a single image at a time.

Kirk,

I do think you're left, er right. A little dyslexia on my part, I guess.

I would tend to think that show in folders would be fine one picture at a time. You are going to see the whole source folder, after all. As long as I have "Reuse tabs" turned off, I would be good to go, I think.

Hi, Kirk
My method of organising photos is date and event/tour. And sometimes when I run a search or filter task, I need to go to folder to locate that specific picture.
Then, I think that "show in folder" would really be a nice feature (but not as important as the ability to join jpeg and raw and the ability to sort results as we do in a normal contact sheet).
Best regards,
- Luiz Muzzi

We know that joining RAW+JPEG and sorting are very important to our users.

Thanks for your feedback.
