Hide Photo(s)
« on: May 15, 2019, 06:18:03 AM »
It would be very helpful to support selective image hiding in the catalog (similar to Apple Photos.app):
- Hide selected file
- Hide Hidden Photo Album

It is also interesting that the Scan to Catalog is very thorough and includes:
- hidden files and files in hidden directories (starting with a period in the name)
- files in hidden macOS directories (`chflags hidden secret_directory`)
- the Navigator (Photo Mechanic Standard) doesn't include any of those!
- It might be nice being able to configure if hidden files/directories should be included or not during the Scan to Catalog, perhaps similar to NeoFinder.app

I'm not sure what you mean by "Hide Hidden Photo Album," but I will say +1 for Hide selected file.

Media Pro has a Find menu that includes these options:
- Show All
- Show Hidden
- Show Selected
- Hide Selected

I use all of these regularly in Media Pro, so it would be very nice to have them in PM+ when I'm viewing a catalog.

The "Hidden Photo Album" is a special collections that only shows the photo/video documents that have been marked as hidden. The visibility of this collection can be toggled with "Hide Hidden Photo Album". Otherwise a special collection with that name might draw even more attention to these documents and defeat the purpose of having hidden them in the first place.
