PM6 works well with the 1DX3 and quick to scroll through contact sheets using the embedded JPG in the RAW file.

As an aside Canon have not provided Adobe with access to their camera matching profiles for ACR and currently the only default options for RAW rendering are the insipid Adobe Color options. That said it's fairly easy to profile the camera with an X-Rite Color Checker Passport (or similar) and convert to DNG then create a custom profile for the 1DX3 CR3 RAW files. Works a treat.

Paul,

HEIF images may always be slower even after optimization of the H.265 decoder.

Well, raw files are fine loading in PM, and I hope that the HEIF files would be as fast as those.

The RAW files (CR3) that show up correctly in PM6 have JPEG previews and will load very fast.  CR3 files that have a HEIF preview are currently unsupported and once supported will load slower than CR3 files that have JPEG previews.

I've faith that you can continue to do a fabulous job with PM, and make the most of the new HEIF format, since I can see more cameras use it in the coming year, especially now that Canon has rolled it out to their flagship.

We always do our best, but there's no such thing as a free lunch when it comes to computation with a general purpose CPU.

Hi guys,
Not sure if it's only my situation, but here it goes:

On Catalina with the lastest PM6, if I ingest a 64Gb CFexpress with the EraseSourceDisk option ON and Unmount ON, it doesn't erase them, only unmounts.
No problem with the SD or CF card.

Thanks!

I'd like to see your Photo Mechanic log.  In Photo Mechanic go to the Help menu and choose "Reveal Support Data..." and moments later a Finder window will come forward with the zipped log file selected.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your zipped PM log file.

Thanks,

Looks like a permissions issue.  PM is not allowed to delete all of the files requested.

I suggest reformatting within the camera.

I understand.  Since the feature doesn't work for your one card type, I suggest reformatting in the camera prior to your next use of the card.
