Almost forgot, I went straight into a 'bug' and a feature request, but I do agree with Ron and Bob: this appears to be the sort of thing that I was waiting for. I don't use Lightroom, find Capture One's catalogs too cumbersom / lacking in options / not very intuitive, so this is the perfect addition, or so it seems.

Does PM+ add the ability to run it on a server in order to access photos from two workstations?

Photo Mechanic Plus runs on macOS and Windows systems.  It can catalog anything that is a locally-mounted disk.  It does not run on a server (like Linux).
