Preview shows incorrect count of images selected (macOS 10.14.6)

Hi.
When I select a number of images to preview in PM6 the number at the top displays the wrong number. A screenshot is attached that shows what happens when I select 16 images. Initially PM showed (122 of 0) images then displays the correct number (2 of 16) a few seconds later, sometimes not until I scroll to the next image.
