Code Replacement - what is it and how is it used?
« on: April 20, 2007, 04:19:03 AM »
Hi,

I see the phrase 'Code Replacement' used on this forum, but I am not clear as to what it is or how it is used?

I couldn't find any info in the help section (unless I am using it wrong)

Many thanks.

The PM 4.4 manual contains a description of code replacement that should get you started. You can find the manual here:

Thanks - didn't know there was a manual - maybe it should be linked to the help page :)

Hi,

In the manual it says...

"Once you have created your text file, you need to tell Photo Mechanic to
use it for Code Replacement. Open the Preferences dialog and click on the IPTC/
XMP tab. Then click on the
‘Code Replacement’ button."

However I can't see a button with this - am using 4.5

Thanks.

In PM 4.5 they have made that function more accessible...it is now an item in the edit menu.
