Ingest to specified catalog

I have 1 catalog with collection the structure  is with years  2018,2019, 2020 and soon 2021
Now to the question ? When I  ingest  from my card I will name It and  add  a new collection in  2020 .

How do add  them in the database  in right collection when you are at the office?

I have all my files in one "master" folder and subdivided into year month (1911, 1912, 2001, etc) and then date (20201225 for yesterday).  I have set the "ingest" Primary destination to be "Q:\Uploads\" file path and directory name (Windows 10).

Source directory structure = ignore - copy all....
Copy Photos = into folder with name
Folder Name = 20{month0}\{datesort} using the variables in PMP.

I will have to change the 20 to 21 in a few days time...

The above may not be the most elegant but it works for me. (note that I have been using PMP for almost one month now.....)

Can't talk about ingesting at an event but back in office I take card from camera and use a dedicated card reader.

{year4} will probably do, I haven't touched mine since I first set up PM years ago.
