Is the Filter/Keywords/find box supposed to find anything?

Using the filter/filter path/ then adding keywords and typing snow in find box finds nothing.  If I scroll down to the keyword snow it immediately finds 88 images.  Exactly the same for every keyword that I try using in the find box - nothing is found but scrolling to the keyword and clicking on it immediately displays the results.

It's a type down find.  It just scrolls to make it visible.  You can then decide to click on that term or some other nearby term.
