Reference to Old Catalog Remains
« on: April 22, 2021, 10:30:36 AM »
Kirk,

I delete an existing catalog and then create a new one with a different name.  I do not exit PM+.  When I "Scan to Catalog" I get the below message:

[Thu 12:25:56] Error: ArchiveMechanicController:begin_async_search: failed to open one or more target catalogs (0 for 1)
[Thu 12:25:56] Error: ArchiveMechanicController:begin_async_search: failed to open one or more target catalogs (0 for 1)

It is as the software is continuing to hold on to the old reference after the catalog is deleted. If I delete a catalog and exit PM+, then reenter and scan no error messages.  Everything works fine.

I am wondering if this might be a bug.

Cedric

How did you delete the catalog?

Kirk,

PM+ > Catalog > Manage Catalogs > Expanded Desired Catalog > Delete.

Cedric,

PM+ > Catalog > Manage Catalogs > Expanded Desired Catalog > Delete.

OK, thanks.  I'd like to see your Photo Mechanic Plus log.  In Photo Mechanic Plus go to the Help menu and choose "Reveal Support Data..." and moments later a Finder/Windows Explorer window will come forward with the zipped log file selected.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your zipped PM log file.

Thanks,

-Kirk

Kirk,

It is ready.  I'd like to keep it private.  Is there any way I can email it to you or send you a DropBox link?  It is 2MB in size.

Hi Kirk,

I am running build interim 5787.

Catalog > Catalog Management > Expand Catalog > I uncheck generate proxies.

The setting is lost when I exit and reenter the software.  When I reenter, it is checked again.

Are other operations on that catalog working properly?  Can you create Collections?  Perform searches?

Kirk,

Everything else appears to work fine.
