Search for a keyword that is not present
« on: May 22, 2021, 05:17:44 AM »
I am trying to find plants that are not Angiosperms. I have about 30,000 images with keyword Plant. Not all Plants are Angiosperms and I want to find the images that are not Angiosperms.

I don't think there is a way to do this at present.

If the 'not' function is difficult to implement then another alternative would be to do a search on Plant then within the window that displays the results have another search box that sorts the results by the keyword you have selected. In this case I would type Angiosperm in the search box and it would show all those with this keyword at the top highlighted and by definition the other images would not have this keyword. This would be fine for what I want but is not very elegant.

Hi Mike,

Wouldn't it be easier to tag also the other plants with the different divisions...

    les Lycophytes (Lycopodes et Sélaginelles) ;
    les Monilophytes (Fougères et Prêles) ;
    les Gymnospermes (Conifères, Cycas, Gingko, etc.) ;
    les Angiospermes (plantes à fleurs).

Sorry I only have French, and I'm not a plant specialist...

Dub,

That is exactly what I am trying to do, I have the Angiosperms tagged so now want to get to the other groups by taking out these and just seeing the rest of the plants.

Yes, of course... I hadn't thought about this logical sequence when you tag your photos...  :-\
There are workarounds but it's true that it's a DIY...
For example "tag" (check the little box at the bottom right of the thumbnails) the photos already updated and not display them anymore.

If it helps ?

Hi Mike,

How about the following query:

  keywords Plant and keywords not Angiosperms

Yes
keywords Plant and keywords not Angiosperms

That is just what I want, thanks. I thought 'not' was not possible, perhaps help needs to be updated with more examples of queries.
